The e-Gems’ series of webconferencing sessions are unique learning and networking opportunities for people working in vocational education and training (VET) and business and industry sectors. Provided by the national training system’s e-learning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework), e-Gems webconferences are free and require no registration.

To participate, you must have access to headphones and a microphone, and have installed and configured the Elluminate webconferencing software beforehand. This presentation introduces participants to podcasting and vodcasting and looks at the tools and techniques used in their production and delivery. It also explores their use in an educational context. Presenter:
Stephan Ridgway works as an E-learning Coordinator for Workforce Development at TAFE NSW – Sydney Institute. He has been involved with e-learning within TAFE NSW for around eight years, and is responsible for the development, maintenance and delivery of a wide range of online resources, delivering staff professional development and providing support for teaching and learning online.

Recently, Stephan has been exploring the use of emerging web 2.0 technologies, such as social software and social networking, in the context of networked teaching and learning communities. He has been an avid podcaster since 2005 and continues to provide professional development in this area. Stephan also currently syndicates at TalkingVTE and myLearning.
