The Premier David Bartlett and AEU President Leanne Wright said that that a meeting had taken place between the Department of Education and the AEU to discuss senior management structures for the Tasmanian Academy, the Tasmanian Polytechnic and Training Tasmania. The meeting discussed the process for senior staff to be placed into the new roles. It has been agreed that the draft process for filling senior roles in the new organisations will go out to senior staff in colleges and TAFE for their feedback as soon as possible. The AEU and the Department of Education are scheduled to meet again on 8 October to further progress the remaining industrial relations issues.
