Occupational health and safety regulation affects every workplace in Australia. At present, the Australian States, Territories and the Commonwealth all have OHS laws that aim to prevent workplace death, injury and disease.
In a significant milestone towards the harmonisation of Australia’s occupational health and safety laws, the Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, the Hon Julia Gillard MP, announced a national review into model Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) laws.
I would like to offer you an opportunity to receive targeted stories and editorial content about the national review into model OHS laws. These can be tailored to suit a specific industry, state or territory or specific story angle where possible.
In particular, we can provide information about the public submission period and the process for making a submission. Many of your readers may be interested in contributing to a submission.
If your publication is interested in the future direction of OHS in Australia then please register your interest by replying to this email with a request for further details. If you have deadlines for publication then include these in your response.
Further details about the review including the terms of reference can be found at www.nationalohsreview.gov.au.
