The recent success of the How to write a business case for e-learning workshops has highlighted the demand from registered training organisations (RTOs), business, and industry seeking assistance in developing business case models for e-learning. Originally provided to workshop participants, a new e-learning resource has been released to the public that provides a step-by-step guide to developing a business case for e-learning. Developed by the national training system’s e-learning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework), the Business case e-learning resource helps users learn the essential skills to write a strong business case for e-learning. The interactive resource assists organisations and individuals to justify the introduction of an e-learning project by developing a solid business case. The Business case e-learning resource covers every aspect of the process and includes:
- executive summary, which identifies the background and challenge
- description of initiative, which includes project purpose, stakeholders and value of the project
- options, which includes benefits and repercussions to stakeholders, return on investment and budget
- risk strategy
- implementation strategy, which includes milestones and user testing
- evaluation strategy.
This online resource also includes a text alternative containing a template of headings, which will become an invaluable tool for anyone new to developing a business case for e-learning, or who would like to perfect the process.
