A national consumer education campaign promoting the consumption of ‘four plus’ servings of grain-based foods a day has been launched in Sydney this morning (Tues Oct 30).
The “4+ Serves A Day” campaign launch was addressed by Senator Brett Mason, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Health & Ageing; Professor Linda Tapsell, Director of the Centre of Excellence in Functional Foods; and Ms Trish Griffiths, Dietitian and Exec. Manager of Go Grains Health & Nutrition.
Six-year-old Child Chef, Felix Hodgson, demonstrated simple and tasty grain-based recipes for children with international chef (and dad) Robert Hodgson.
Easy and tasty grain-food recipes for each meal of the day are available on request, along with high resolution food images, demonstrating easy incorporation of grains in your everyday diet.
A consumer information brochure is available and a new health hotline (1300 GRAINS) will soon be operating (from Monday November 19th)to assist consumers.
Interviews with Senator Mason, Professor Tapsell and Dietitian Trish Griffiths are available on request: Please call Owen Craig or Natasha Ciesielski on 9436 2088 / 0411 584 415 / 0407 683 716.
