A free collection of resources to help Indigenous people get ready for the workplace has been released in a CD-ROM format.
The multimedia learning materials, web links and suggested text resources support the delivery of the Queensland Certificate I in Work Education.
Indigenous e-learn = e-skills n work has been put together using resources produced by the Indigenous Engagement Project of the national training system’s e-learning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework.
Indigenous Engagement Project Manager Rhonda Appo said e-learning was a great vehicle for Indigenous people, who were highly visual learners.
“This collection of resources really does support teachers and trainers working with Indigenous people to help them obtain employability knowledge and skills that are expected of them in the workplace.”
For example, learners can engage in online investigations, manage a virtual business or use multimedia to learn job application skills.
