Clinical
School, a core unit of the Faculty of Medicine, services a local population of one and a half million people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. Located at

Westmead
Hospital, its facilities and philosophy have always fostered a long and strong commitment to teaching, research and patient care.

 

This is an exceptional part-time role teaching clinical skills to medical students. The appointee will work with the full-time Medical Student/Clinical Skills Educator and report to the Associate Dean of the

Western
Clinical
School, Westmead via the Executive Officer.

 

The successful candidate will possess a degree in Nursing or Health Education (or equivalent qualifications or experience), training or experience in adult or small group learning methods, and an understanding of clinical procedures.

 

A strong communicator and problem-solver with an analytical approach, the appointee will also have experience in the development of practical teaching programs, a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with academics, students, clinical teachers and co-workers, the capacity to work effectively both independently and within a team, familiarity with MS Office, Excel and the internet in medical education, and excellent organisational skills, including an ability to work under pressure, prioritise and meet strict deadlines.

 

The position is part-time continuing (21 hours per week) subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.

 

Remuneration package: $73,679 - $80,267 p.a. (which includes a base salary  Level 7 $62,260 - $67,827 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation) pro rat.
