2007 EOWA Employer of Choice for Women

With the skills shortage getting worse, 131 organisations across Australia have earned an Employer of Choice for Women citation .

These organisations are using the family friendly title to set themselves apart from their competition in the hope of employing the best candidates.

Given to organisations with more than 100 employees , the organisation must be able to demonstrate that they have policies and practices that support women.

The citation must be applied for each year.

EOWA Director, Anna McPhee, says “Organisations are reporting to EOWA that the talent squeeze is starting to pinch. Workplace flexibility is emerging as the key issue for organisations with many now offering career breaks, more opportunities to work part time and increased provision of Blackberries and other devices to work remotely.”

“We also noticed that the number of organisations introducing paid maternity leave and the duration of their existing paid maternity leave policy is also increasing.”
