Successful Conference

The 46th Conference has been deemed a great success by the 140 participants. Not only was the food good but the keynote speakers, the workshops and seminars promoted much animated discussion as we examined how we can all move the cause of adult education forward.

ALA National Conference keynote speakers finalised

The conference program has been finalised. Our two Conference co-chairs will be Helen Kimberley and John McIntyre and the main keynote speakers will be:

Kaye Bowman
Ron Burke
Mike Newman and
Barry Golding
A highlight will be the opening speech by Professor Chris Duke, a longstanding friend of Adult Learning Australia, on Thursday night during the Conference opening.

CEO invited to work on the OECD Country Background Report (CBR)

Ron has been invited to work on the DEST steering committee which is providing the OECD with a Country Background Report on the recognition of Non-formal and Informal Learning in Australia.
The committee is working in conjunction with NCVER and the Australian Bureau of Statistics, amongst others.
The meeting is being held in Adelaide.
